Anna and the Hunters is a new alternative rock band that originated in London.

Anastasia the lead singer, came up with the idea in secondary school. She talked to her two best friends about the idea. Matty was the first member to join her since he was one of her best friends. They searched around for some more members. They stumbled upon a third member (Ben) at a sixth form open evening.
“It was all we needed at the time” said Anastasia in an interview. “Ben was on drums, Matty on guitar and me singing. We were the band but we had help from others, my boyfriend Andrew was writing the songs and Vlad our Russian technician”.
They played in pubs around London and eventually caught the eye of Patrick Matthews a well-known manager for bands. He took them to a studio to see how they’d sound on recording. “It was quite an experience, I never expected to be picked up by a band manager and being in the studio where so many other bands and artists have played and practiced was mind blowing”. Patrick saw that there was a lot of potential in them and tried to bring it out. He contacted other bands and band managers for a chance to go on some gigs as support groups. This gives the band a chance to be heard and seen by their genres audience. They got a spot on the Reading festival.
“We were all so nervous at first but when we started it we were consumed by adrenaline and our passion for music flowed through our bodies”. From that tour on, they became a hit with the whole of the UK. They got 2 NO.1’s in a row with: ‘Taken By Love’ and their cover of ‘If I Had You’. Since then they have made their first album ‘Wildfire’, which they have to yet release. The date of release is planned to be the 5th January. They also have their first own upcoming tour named after their first album, with support acts such as fellow beginners ‘WOLF’.
“We have a lot planned for the future, some to be achieved next year and some for ten years time. I would personally like to become like some of the best bands in history and be remembered for a long time. I guess for now all we can do is hope for that, but everything else seem to be achievable”. We asked her about how her reationship with fellow beginners (WOLF) was. "They are really nice guys. I have a great relationship with their own lead singer Adam Black. We have great fun when we meet. I think of him as a brother and a close one as we both have the same problems being beginners in this industry and we can relate. I think our bands will try to always stick together, well, that how it seems for now. I don't mean that well just leave them if we get super famous and they don't. But people change sometimes don't they? I just hope we stay as friendly opponents".
